🌱 About MMSU Edible Landscaping

Blending beauty, sustainability, and nourishment

Background of the Project

Edible landscaping is the use of incorporating food plants as a design approach in doing a landscape. These food plants oftentimes are also planted alongside non-edible plants for aesthetic value and for consumption.

The Edible Landscaping Project of the MMSU-Research Directorate showcases not only food plants but also a diverse kind of plants including herbals, medicinals, and spices. Existing plants inside the garden include lemon grass, herba maria, pechay, oregano, tsaang gubat, eggplant, kutsay, dill, bugnay, and many more.

Fruit trees such as mango, duhat/lumboy, and palm fruit also adorn the garden. The garden is a fusion of herbals, medicinals, and fruit trees. Aside from its aesthetic value, it serves as a platform for research on medicinal plants and health.
